Food for
thought

Our neighbor Karen moved to Clay County from Cincinnati, Ohio. It hasn’t always been easy, but she likes the rural community she moved to nearly a decade ago. She has worked hard her entire life, and as a 67-year-old, she still works to help support her family, including her roommate’s 6-year-old grandchild who recently became under their care.

1 in 7 older adults in Kentucky faces hunger. Peggy, like many seniors, faces financial challenges that make accessing healthy food a struggle. Access to nutritious food means security, dignity, and the ability to care for loved ones.

Heather infuses her life with kindness, generosity, and service because she knows firsthand that anyone can be just one paycheck away from needing some extra support.
