Joseph Elsoueidi began volunteering with God’s Pantry Food Bank during the Sharing Thanksgiving Lexington Basket Brigade in November 2025 and has volunteered ever since.
“I was interested in volunteering because I knew the food would be going to people not only in Lexington, but also to people in my hometown of Hazard, Kentucky.” Since then, Joseph has volunteered regularly. He often attends Volunteer Center shifts to sort food, pack boxes, or repack bulk products, and has participated in annual opportunities like Stamp Out Hunger. One of Joseph’s favorite memories is helping load turkeys into meal boxes during a Sharing Thanksgiving volunteer shift.
For Joseph, service is simple: “I believe it is important to give back to the community, and I really enjoy helping others in any way that I can.” His favorite part of volunteering is “knowing that all of the food that I help sort and pack is going to people in need of it.”
He describes God’s Pantry Food Bank as “a great organization that is making a big impact in many Kentuckians’ lives and makes volunteering fun and productive.”
Thank you, Joseph, for your dedication to helping feed our neighbors and strengthen communities across Kentucky!
