You’re Nourishing Children
Healthy food is essential for children to learn, grow, and play. But 1 in 4 children in the 50 counties serviced by God’s Pantry Food Bank face food insecurity. Through your generosity, we provide essential nutrition for kids across Central and Eastern Kentucky—empowering them to thrive through our Summer Meals Program and all year long.
In summer 2023, your gifts provided children with 5,600 meals and 3,400 snacks. Thanks to 9 Partnerships, 17 Summer Meals Program sites, and 4 Counties.
In 2023, your generosity meant: 49,000 backpacks filled through BackPack Program, 2,500 households served through School Pantry Program, 15,000 meals provided through Kids Cafe, and 43,000 pounds of food shared through School Pantry Program.
You’re Increasing Community Impact
Thanks to your generous support, God’s Pantry Food Bank can team up with local partners who are also committed to ending childhood hunger—working together to increase our community impact
Community Inspired Lexington
Through the Summer Meals Program, Community Inspired Lexington provides free breakfast, lunch, and snacks for up to 60 children and their families for four weeks over the summer. Children aren’t just receiving nourishment—they are also learning how to prepare food and make nutritious choices.
You’re part of the family one Community Inspired Lexington volunteer said, “I love coming over here each month. It is like one big family.”
As a generous God’s Pantry Food Bank supporter, you are an integral part of a big family. A family that works together to feed Kentucky communities.
AMEN House
AMEN House also helps bridge the summer food gap through the Summer Meals Program. When Scott County Schools’ cafeterias close in June, leaving many children uncertain about their next meal, AMEN House steps in by offering healthy nourishment until school resumes. Last summer, they provided 2,307 meals for children at risk of hunger.
